Hesitation above 5K RPMs?
I have only had my SC300 for 3 days but I noticed something troubling today. I told myself I was going to go easy on this car and I have been doing my best, but the engine sounds so nice. Today I was in 2nd and decided to rev it out a little and at around 5500 RPMs the engine hesitated. I did it again and same thing happened. I had a similar problem with my last car (1991 M5). I think that was a clogged CAT but I sold it before I ever found out for sure. Anyone else ever hear of this or have a similar experience?
If it is the CAT I think I would just take it somewhere and have them cut it out and weld a pipe in. Florida has no emissions testing so I don't really need it anyways.

moved to the proper forum. how many miles does your sc or cat have on it? It could be a lot of things I wouldn't decat the car for that if anything get a universal cat welded in. I would guess its an ignition issue have you ever changed the plugs, distributor rotor and cap? the rotor and cap should be changed at least every timing belt change.

Thanks for moving the thread!
Just got the car so I havent done anything yet but the mileage is only 76,400.
I attached all the service records I found on mylexus site, unfortunately that's the only records I have but I believe the older woman who owned it was vigilant about servicing the vehicle.
