Greetings,
Although common, I was curious as to why the 1UZFE~5 speed swap is not more popular than it is?
It seems that the people who can afford to source whatever they want for their cars seem to choose the 6 cylinder~turbo setup.
I'm sure there are great reasons, please enlighten me.
Are their things about the 1UZFE~5 speed swap that people don't love?

Just my opinion, I'm only speaking for my self...not for the other members here. If I had to take a stab at it, it seems easier. Turbo kits are readily available, basically bolt on and tune. Plus the 2JGE block is incredible, and can take quite a beating (proven) look at the members here running NA-T set ups. Two in particular: Quicksc4 and Lexforlife. Those dudes have and builds some very impressive NA-Ts! Maybe other members will chime in?

I wanted the I-6 engine because it's so easy to work on and massive power is very easy to attain. Plus, mine came with a 5-speed. The 4 litre V8 is a pretty small V8 engine without a lot of aftermarket support.

I get the support picture. Thank you!
I am reasonably happy with the power the V8 is making in my car, I just loathe an automatic transmission. At the hint of trouble from this tranny, I am surely going to do the 5 speed swap. My next SC will probably be a 6 cyl/turbo/manual.
