Which transmission for manual swap
Hi guys. So with the austo trans in my 91 Celsior showing its age Ive decided to swap in a 2007 AR5 5 speed manual. The total cost of the swap including all parts and fabrication is about 5000 aud. or 3900 usd. Before I get the ball rolling and take my car to the shop, are there any other transmissions that you guys would suggest over the AR5?
These are good for around the 350hp that Ill be chasing and Ive seen some running arounf 500hp on turbo charged 1uz engines in other cars.

Not that I've ever done it, but everything that I'd read before I purchased one lead me to the manual KA trans out of a 240sx. All the people I know with manual trannys are on facebook though...

Man, Australia sounds like ground zero for insane 1UZ builds. I like the sound of a 5 speed swap, especially for a Celsior, if only to make it a little more usable on the highway in places where the speed limit is above 65...

Nah mate. New Zealand is still the capital for 1uz builds. We might be a close second here. Unfortunately they are never built in their ls400 homes..hoping to change that shortly.
