Default Used intake and wire harness...anyone?

New guy here...looking hard at buying an SC 400 that hasn't run in 5 years. Had an fire near the power steering pump and burned the wiring harness associated with the air intake system along with the air intake. Stored in garage for the 5 years it did not run. Comes with 4 bad tires, drivers side window inop and broken AC. Owner says he has wiring harness for a 93 that goes with the car.....Anyone know if it will work???

It would help if you told us what year the sc400 is you are looking to buy and I hope you are getting it for dirt cheap because it sounds like a nightmare.

Sorry you are right, it is a 92, yeah it is going to be cheap or I wont do it. I think I will get it for 500 bucks. If I can get wiring harness fixed the other stuff will be straight forward.

Ok yea 92-93 should be the interchangeable without issue. 500 is about fair for a non runner.

Thanks, if we go thru with this it is going to be a "project" car for my 14 year old son. I figure it will take us a year or so to get it up to speed for him to drive to high school. I did the same thing with my first son 5 years ago with an 89 Supra. Worked out great for a father/son project. Thanks again

Yea the sc is a great father son project as this is what my son and I will work on when the time comes!
Just shop at the junk yards and you will be able to source the needed parts for dirt cheap.
Good luck!

I wouldn't touch it under any circumstance. These cars with minimal issues are still a handful, much less in that condition. You'll be 700+ deep in just rubber bits under the car in the suspension and mounts before you even remotely consider getting it going. Don't bother looking under there to see if you need them, you need them. All discussed several times before here, look through the FAQ for more info. If you are going to make a project car save the $500 and find something that at least runs right now and just needs a lot of TLC and it will put you at least $500 ahead, if not much more.

These cars are hell on the wallet in maintenance when they DO run......
