Default Gas Gauge

Any suggestions where I can purchase a new gas gauge for my 1993 SC 400.

Of course other than a Lexus dealer.

I would contact OLT by PM and see if he has one lying around. If not, try to post something in the classifieds. I do remember seeing one in there awhile back for parts only. Maybe you will get lucky and find one. Try the junk yards or EBay. Be careful not to break the plastic nipples or tabs while removing or replacing the needle.

What is the symptoms?

Symptoms are you can hear the stepper motor going tick tick tick for about 5 minutes when you first start the car and the needle doesn't move from empty. Once warmed up the ticking sound goes away and the needle registers the correct amount of fuel.

O.L.T. said there are no moving parts in the gauge so I guess there is no stepper motor which makesme ask "What moves the needle?"
