non-vvti. iv had a few friends attempt it and in the end sell the vvti engine set for a non-vvti. the concept is good, its much like vtec but the problems in wiring and getting it to work properly outweigh any potential benefits.
thats my opinion atleast, and most would agree.

Thanks. Now the hard part is to find a 1jzgte r154 swap for a soarer. I actually have a r154 already but its not install in my car. Was thinking of just buying a 1jzgte supra r154 rear sump since a soarer is so hard to come by.

What do you guys think about this? How much work is it required to get it to work in my sc300. I know i need the front half shaft. Shifter extension, and wiring harness. The other soarer swap I saw which i believe is the soarer swap because of the tripod shifter is 3500.

i currently have a r154 from a mkiii supra that I haven't installed yet. Not sure what direction I should go. So many decision. Really think i should get a 1jzgte with a r154 so I don't have to get a flywheel and bell housing which is already like 700. Any advice? At the price for the supra 1jzgte r154 I would really just need to get the wiring done if its not more than 400 and the shifter extension for another 200. Or wait for a 1jzgte r154 from a soarer... so many decisions.

I'm in the same boat as you right now. I can't find a Soarer engine but I find plenty of Supra 1JZ's with an R154. Not too bad of price either. For around $2000-2700 shipped I could get a 1JZ with an R154 but the only problem would be the wiring. I've seen that Dr. Tweak and I forgot the other source could do it but that would add another $1K to my costs. That money could be used for my Power FC if I go VVTI or Emanage for non. At that price I might as well go with a 2JZGTE and just get the right harness and mounts instead.
I'm still going to do some more research and see if something pops up.

Do the wiring yourself, and if you have any questions about it, just ask the search window above ^^^^^... We have all been there, done that, with the wiring questions and troubleshooting. Dont let the wiring hold you back on the swap, IMO
