Default trany fluid.

i have a 93 auto sc300 and im going to be changing my oil and transmission fluid and filters later this week. is there any preferred brands of transmission fluid i should use? this is actually going to be my first time changing any fluids on a car (im 19 and just got my car last Thursday, its my first) and i want to make sure im using the right stuff.

How about Schaeffers synthetic ATF $8.00 a quart.

Yeah, the Schaeffers guy told me it was good, but I think I should save it for my 94 GMC 4X4.

Of course he did, He is trying to sell you something

None of the aftermarket fluids have all of the friction modifiers needed for these transmissions so people often make this fatel mistake.

im 99 percent sure that the 300 take dex 3..

Nope toyota type t-iv fluid is all that is recomended. It may work for a while but why chance it?

400 for sure can absolutly use nothing other than this.

I use mercon v as it us available to me and is equivalent to what factory recommends. The filter is reusable metal mesh just clean it out and the gasket is grey silicone make sure to scrap both surfaces with a razor and clean with brake clean on a rag
