Default NA-T FFIM, 1jz iacv?

hey guys, I just built a custom FFIM for my NA-T, just wondering if the 1JZ iacv will plug in and work on the 2jzge. Reason is, Toyota wants $600 for a MK4 iacv, and my friend said he had one for 1j laying around and shipped it to me for free...

they look different. the n/a one does not have a flange to bolt on like the other ones do.
not sure if the 1jz one bolts up to the 2jz flange, but I know the sc400 and ls400 ones do, I run a sc400 one and it works great, and was like $30 shipped.

Ah okay.

So no chance of getting the iacv from an NA to mount up.

But 1j is possible?

for the n/a you have to fabricate a bottom plate for it, some people have done it yes but its not easy or straight forward unless you can machine things, greddy used to have a bolt on adapter that you could attach a hose to and run to the intake but not only is it discontinued but its also not very aesthetically pleasing and does not hold the check valve like the flange normally does.

the sc400 valve on the 2jz weld on flange with the 2jz check valve and rubber grommet is the way to go.
no need to overthink this one. I want to say someone said the 1jz one does not have the same bolt pattern, but I personally have not tried it and for all I know it may or may not actually fit. I have personally bolted up a 7mgte one and a sc400 one and both fit and have the right connector, the sc400 one being the newer one and the least expensive.

Here in australia our sc400 is the v8 version,
Then we have the sc300 or soarer which is turbo

So 7mgte 2jz or the 1uzfe fits ? Or is easily adaptable

yes the 1uzfe and 7mgte and 2jzgte are all direct bolt on to the 2jzgte weld on IACV flange. the 1jz one might also not really sure. maybe ask your friend to measure the bolt hole spacing on the 1jz one and see if it is different.

I remember reading on supraforums that when the 1JZ IACV fails, you cannot simply bolt on a 2JZ one, which makes me think there is some difference but some people are stupid so take it for what its worth. maybe ask your friend to measure the bolt hole spacing on the 1jz one and see if it is different.
So which ones the iacv. Just remembered i had this in the garage

The IACV is on the top right of the second picture.

The 1JZ is different, but if I remember correctly only because the water nipple outlets interfere, and very small bolt hole difference. I bolted one up to a FFIM (I had welded it underneath the intake and didn't use the water nipples) *if I remember correctly* but it ran wide open, as did the 7M. I think both of those were defective as they were given to me for free.

I ended up finding a replacement 2JZ-GTE IACV on ebay for $150 shipped

Just searched on ebay, here's a brand new one for $225, with all the extra work in fabrication you'll end up spending about the same I would think without the hassle.

Troy, I dont get why you keep showing pictures of the 2jzge non turbo idle valve, the non turbo idle valve will not bolt on its missing the whole base section. The easiest cheapest reliable one is a 1uzfe idle valve. it will bolt on. the water nipples are different but just cut them off or ignore them they are not needed.
