hx35 on a 1jz?
anyone know of someone running a holset hx35 on a 1jz? the nissan 2.5l guys seem to love these things.
they claim instant spool, 400whp at 15psi and it screams.... well.... like a diesel truck turbo. maybe cuz it is one...
so yea anyone have any pics or dyno sheets from a 1jz running a hx35 or hx40?

I know one guy on Supraforums and also supramania, he was running it on his 1jz supra. Just post your question on there and he will see it for sure.
He said the turbo was industructable, but when boost hit it hit really hard and all at once. In other words it wasnt a smooth power band. I didnt ride him with him but i think he has gone onto a t67

He came on that forum with this big ego saying he will do 500whp and such on a HX35 and laugh at us on how we spent $1200 on a precision GT40.
He proceded to make less HP then our car made with stock twins with a table top power band. I think you're right, he did buy a T67.

The HX35 is a great turbo, and makes good power especially for the price. It will work well on a 1.5jz, and on a good setup can make great power with descent spool. It's transient response leaves soemthing to be desired from the garret GT line up, though.

blackops we get it. you "know" its trash, it sucks, and its not worth it... thats has been covered.
I got one for $100 shipped. im sure it will be plenty until i can afford a BL trans.
I will make sure to post a dyno sheet. if your right,... cool. i plan to run this turbo for a while either way.

The idea that all turbos under $800 are **** is a joke to me. sounds like my buddy carl. when people ask what part this or that is on his car he replies with how much it cost. $1800 intake manifold ftl.
my whole single swap is costing me under $800.

Well not a 2j/1j but I have seen rb25/rb26 with the hx35 or other holset turbos personally and they hauled. As already mentioned they can be had cheap, are built well, and can deliver good power. Unfortunately the only dynos I have seen were on the nissans but they weren't "tabletops". For $800 bucks damn post up some dynos I wanna see Also if a rb25 dyno is good enough for you I think I may have some saved.

I have a hx35 on my stock cummins 5.9L diesel. I
tll hit 36psi with no problem, ...but that out of its efficientcy(sp?) range. If you kept it under 25psi, theyll easilt last 300,000 miles.
Mine has 192,00, and has NO shaft play.
My HE351 on my '04 Dodge, ..I make 44psi!
