I'm in the process of doing a timing belt service. I rented a harmonic balancer puller from autozone and it does not have the correct bolts to screw into the balancer. Anyone know the diameter from experience (M6)? The length of bolts purchased would be helpful as well. How about the cam pulley's, since I'm doing the cam seals they need to come off. They look smaller, are they M4?

Dont quote me but i think its 8mm with 1.25 thread pitch. maybe 6mm w/1.25

Well i just went through this with my GTE but i can remeber for the life of me what they were, i know i used like 75 or 80mm length. but what i did was find a bolt that screwed in and took it to the hardware store and matched it with a nut for the size and pitch. i think the valvle cover bolt is what i used.

After a couple of trips to NAPA, I have found the harmonic balancer bolts are M7, how odd! Also the cam pulley bolts are M5, once again, a surprise. I live in rural West Texas and no one in town has any M7 bolts long enough. I guess I'll be looking for an online bolt supplier tomorrow. Are the cam pulley center bolts right handed thread? They didn't come off with the impact and the main crank pulley bolt spun off without a split second of hesitation.
