Default LSD-Unit MK.IV possible to install in ´97 SC400 Diff?

Hello!

Another LSD Thread here

i have a question:

Can i install a Supra TT 6-Speed LSD-Unit (not the complete Diff) in my 97 SC400 housing? can i use all parts from the SC? Or need i the differential side gears from the Supra? Have the SC and the Supra the same numbers of teeths in the diff? (i hope you can understand my question)

i can have a A0xB LSD with 8". I read, the B0xB with 8,7" are too big and not possible to install.

Thanks for the answers!

greets

Tom

I don't believe so.

Not the 6 speed unit. You will need the auto unit. If you use your own ring gear, pinion, companion flange, bearings, etc... you would only need the unit.

I'm assuming you are talking about the gear ratio when you talk about the teeth. The answer is I don't think so. I know that sc400s have a lower gear ratio than sc300s, but not too sure on exactly how different.

Supra auto- 3.76

Supra 6spd- 3.26

GS400- 3.26

Sc300- 4.27 or something like that. I think it depends on the years as well

i will use the original ring gear and the other parts, only the LSD i will install

i found a list of the LSD´s in the supra are used, this one here: and the says, i can use the from the 6 speed, but only the 8"? i found this information in a other Thread, i think in the LOC.
