Default transmission mod for off the line performance

I know this is lame......A few weeks ago I saw a thread about cutting a wire on the rear of the trans that gave you more power off the line. It started out with a disconnect at the front driver side of the trans but that gave a code. The final take was that the wire running to the rear most servo on the end of the trans was the one to cut and it shifted positive/harsh and came off the line like it meant it. I have searched for tghe tyhread with all those pics but I can't find it. I did find one that talked about doing the same thing b cutting a wire at the ECU. The trans wire seems much more easy and I want to install a switch for the mod. Can anybody tell me where that thgread is? Is there any diff in cutting at the ECU or the trans>

Thanks, I hpe to try it this weekend.

Cutting the wire at the ECU doesn't require you to get under the car. Took me 5 minutes to remove the carpeting/padding/covers, find the wire, snip, replace everything.

I don't have any wiring know-how, but I'm sure you can extend a wire from the ECU and put a switch on it somewhere within arm's reach of the driver.

Post here ya go

heres the thread'

also i think it would be better to cut the wire at the ecu. but read the thread and figure out what would be best for your year because some years had different outcomes with the mod.

i'm writing up a DIY on how to get this mod so that it disables the transmission solenoid when you flip the PWR/ECT switch. So the transmission acts normally when in NORM mode and "cuts the wire" when in PWR/ECT mod.

I've also wired it up so that there is no CEL for 96+ vehicles. I have put over 1000 miles and confirmed no CEL and working switch.

Look out for it in the upcoming week. Here's a small preview of the wiring required.

How does this work with the J3 Series Aristo Twin turbo transmission?

As far as I know this mod only works for 1992-1997 SC400's and LS400's transmission.

My thanks to all of you. I will probably go with the ECU wire cut but I have the use of a lift and getting to thetrans is easier bthan pulling up the carpet. You guys are great. Thank you very much
