Dirty SC

ok so im driving down south with my girl on monday night. ac blowing cold never had an issue before with the ac. then all of the sudden the ac light started blinking... i said hmmmm thats weird and i noticed the air started to come out warmer. so i shut the ac off. pulled over poped the hood, and looked at the compressor. with the engine running i told my girlfriend to turn on the ac and the compressor enganged and the engine RPMS dropped imensely to the point where it almost stalled the car. and the the compressor stoped and then the ac light started to blink again.

i asked my friend he thinks the compressor is fine, and that usually happends when u have to much pressure in the system and that it might be that the expansion valve is bad. another person said that it might be that there isnt enought r134 oil in the system so its not lubricated well.

before i spend money on a compressor i need to know what u guys think it might be the problem. has anybody here ever had similar issues with this?

blinking ac light is compressor not turning. Sounds like compressor is locking up.
