Default Looking to get a 1JZ t67 sc300...just a few questions..

Hey guys, im looking to pick up a 92 sc300 with a 1jz swap. Car has 191k, engine has 41k

Power wise, the car has

1jz with r154, stock rear end
precision turbo t67
3inch exhaust all the way back
hks cams 264?
walbro 255lph, forgot what size injectors...
upgraded exhaust manifold
stock crank,rods,pistons..just cams
supra brakes, hks coils..blah blah blah doesnt effect reliability..

car puts down around 480rwhp

just a few questions..

1) how much WHP can these engines put up with ?
2) how reliable is this set up with this much rwhp?
3) What should i be looking for in a 92 SC?
4) what should i be looking for in 1jz's? besides the common knowledge stuff..
5) Fuel pump was real noisy, was able to hear the whine inside the cabin the whole time the car was on, is this normal? Did they forget a grommet piece that quiets it down?

car is going to be DD, so i need know everything that needs to be known in the SC world...

Thanks, hopefully im clear and dont sound like a total noob.

There are plenty out there running 600+whp reliably

Depends on who built it,how its tuned,etc... the HP isnt an issue here, its how it got there.

Check the general condition of the car, the interior/body are more expensive to repair than the drivetrain.

Check the turbo has no shaft play, no oil leaking past the seals, no smoke from the exhaust, oil looks decent, tranny doesn't grind going into gears etc...

Nope its a walbro, they are LOUD which is one of the reasons i chose to use the TT supra pump, you can get a stock supra TT Denso pump and its quieter and has been proven to flow more as well.

Search is your friend, remember the general rule is the more mods the less reliable it is and higher the maintenance cost.

posting the forsale thread of the vehicle might give us some more insight into the vehicle.

Upgrades look good. If this was a good install, this should be a good DD. Like always the more mods the less reliable to watch for that. Just make sure you know what you are getting yourself into cause these cars can suck a lot of money out of you if your not careful

Yeah the car started up fine, ran smooth, never overheated. I'll be meeting up again for a full test drive. What kind of maitenence should of been performed already? And what's next for maitenence?
