This has happened before, but always ends up going away after a few miles.

Lately, however, the speedo has been "jumpy". It goes up and down like crazy from 20-60 mph and then stops and starts randomly.

My first instinct says its a speed sensor, but can anyone confirm this?

I have this same problem, IIRC the SC still uses a speedometer cable, it's a possibility that it's going bad.
