hey man excellent work. I may be looking to get this done soon. Does it throw a CEL or anything like that? Any other things that would keep it from passing an inspection?

BTW, willhickey, it's quantum-auto.com.

Maybe I missed it, but do your reverse lights work?
What about your cruise control?

Reverse lights worked until I crushed the clip on a speed bump, havent fixed it since haha.

Cruise control, no, didn't try to hook it up, got rid of it instead.

Red Phoenix,
What did you do regarding your differential? Are you using the stock SC400 differential? Stock SC300 5spd differential? Other? What RPM's are you at when cruising 70 mph? I am going to convert my 98 SC400 VVTi to manual but I am unsure what rear end to use. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks and great writeup!
Sincerely,
Luis

using the 3.92 right now. I wouldnt go any shorter than this, to me a 3.92 is short for highway (3k rpms around 70). The 3.26 you have may work nice (or be too long). I think the 3.73 from the Supra would be perfect.

More and more of these popping up....NICE!

How is yours coming along MongooseGA?

You will be fine with the factory rearend but I plan on going to the 3.73 Torsin in a bit.

My transmission ended up getting stuck in gear and I'm trying to figure out how to fix/replace it.

If I'm not mistaken, you were able to get the MKIV shifter on the MKIII tail shaft, correct? That's what I'm banking on if I end up using my same transmission.

We are actually testing out a MK3 W58 in an SC400 really soon (T-minus 1 month). And we might get away with a simple shifter extension... so we shall see!

No I wound up going with the SC300 W58 do to the adapter not reaching certain shift points.

RedPhoenix, such a good read man!

I am doing a conversion at the end of this year, but am using the 6spd T56, a guy on my forum in Aus makes kits with the adaption plate and that, really looking forward, just hoping it's not a whole lot different to your setup.

Still having lots of fun in it? I bet you are!!
