So I think I just learned a $240 lesson. I bought the Autobahn88 Header from a member on here and he was using it in a 92 Sc300 without any issues, well apparently the 92 and 97 SC's have different motor mounts because I now have a hole in my new head

I thought my leak was coming from the gasket.....................boy was I wrong as you can see in the picture below I have bigger problems than a bad gasket.

Is this repairable and is there any way I can get them to fit on my car?

I dont have a 300 but what does that bolt for? You can't just cut it off? As far as the header goes you should be able to find someone to weld it back up for ya.

I'm really not sure what that bolt is for, it looks like it is holding the bracket to the engine, but I could be wrong

So I am assuming you are talking about the header and not the head. The header looks to be repairable. I'm not sure about that bolt sticking out that far on the motor mount bracket. I wouldn't chop it but I'd try removing it to make room for the header. Either that or replace that extra long bolt with one from a 92.

Could you please change the title, I just realized how misleading it is lol. Are teh mounts from the 92 the same?

it might be for shielding, i'd look at mine but it's at the shop :P

i would just trim the bolt. As for the header it could be welded...but im no welder. boy am i useful tonight.

Well its a shielding and part of the mount that is supporting the engine. I wonder if I can I just replace that bolt with a standard one with a hex head.

Well you just need to grind down the top portion of the bolt so it shouldn't affect the portion that supports the block. Look at the bright side, at least you won't have to whip out a deep socket next time you take the engine out

take it to a welder, have it repaired, then grind off the part sticking out... I'm pretty sure that bolt is used as a bracket to mount part of the exhaust to on the turbo cars and they probably just carried the bolt over from platform to platform...
