Question 5Zigen Fireball Mega Exhaust :D

I would like to purchase the 5zigen Fireball Mega axel-back muffler set for my 97 SC4. I was planning on purchasing it from L-tuned... but there are a couple differet versions. Es,Gs,Sc etc. I've heard the GS version fits the sc4. Its also cheaper. the the other one is for the sc300 and i was wondering if it would fit on the sc4.theres no specific one for the sc4. its kinda confusing to explain.

ALSO! if i want more Hp and Torque gains...what would you guys recommend as far as the rest of the exhaust piping goes. everything except headers. any idea?

PLEASE AND THANX IN ADVANCE

The SC300 ones should fit fine on the SC400. Since you're planning on changing the piping of your exhaust, you can always ask the muffler shop to make the SC300 spec mufflers fit if it already doesn't. As for piping, I think 2.5 inches to 2.75 inches from cat to the mufflers would be plenty unless you're planning on forced induction in the future.

I have the megaball axleback exhaust. If you're getting custom piping made from the headers back to the mufflers (no cats/resonators) the car gets pretty loud. I have a SC300 though, so I'm not sure if a 400 will emit the same "loudness".
By the way, what part of Washington are you in? There is a regional forum for us northwesterners... I'm fairly new myself.

I live in steilacoom. its about a 45 min drive from seattle. about a 25 min drive from tacoma. hopefully that gives you a good idea of where it is.

wait whats up here for us north-westerners :P?

I want to keep the stock headers. obviosuly its illegal to not have catalytic converteres so id want new 2.5in piping from the headers to the stock cat then more 2.5in piping to the y pipe and then 2.5in piping to the mufflers. Unles you can tell me anything wrong with that set up?

2.75inches????a NA car with that big of exhaust piping is useless. isnt factory 2.25? and SC4 and SC3 exhaust sounds are totally different.

the only reason i said 2.75 inches was because his car was a 400. it would defininately help the car breathe easier but to be reasonable, 2.5 should be plenty enough.

sc4 would definitely be louder. 2.5 is a good size.. 2.75 is excessive

The piping on the Megas are almost the same diameter as stock. So you if you wanted to go with 2.75 you would have to do a lot of reducing. I just did 2.5 from the header back (NO CATS - NO RESONATORS) and split them off using 2.25 to the mufflers. They sound pretty mean once they are really hot.
