i have the same kind of notchy shift from first to second in my car. search for a shifter bushing replacement - its a dirt cheap part you can get from the dealership and install yourself... dont expect it to cure the notch though. however your shifts will be dramatically improved and less notchy

fluid change couldnt hurt either!

Transmission fluid flush - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...t=transmission

Tranny mount change - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...smission+mount

Shifter bushing + shifter seat. - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...ission+bushing

All will really really help with the notchiness if not remove it completely. I'd say they are listed in the most dramatic improvement from top down. If you replace your tranmission fluid make sure u have a 17 mm WRENCH for the fill plug. And a 15/16 inch socket for the fill because it's not a 23 mm like it says in the 1st post. Also the GM sychromesh is the same as penzoil synchromesh but cheaper and its great stuff. My old fluid came out smelling like fish and was pretty dark lol it really needed a change - 92 sc 160k

Awesome, good info...I want to flush the fluid on mine, it feels a little notchy at times.
