This is what the ecu does when it is running in limp mode it will not rev past 3000 rpm . if you keep trying to make it rev past that you will melt a piston ,trust me ive seen it tons of times with these engines .your best bet is cheack your wiring because this is usually caused by bad wiring, the ecu should be fine sice he did not extend the ecu harness there,Is the cel light wired up? if not its a blue wire with a yellow stripe on the 1jz harness which have to connect to the blue/yellow wire on the sc bodyplug .Grounds will not cause this a bad sensor or improper wiring will cause this .

Bobby, I got 2 more for you.

Check your plugs, see if any are completly killed... even a tip broke off or something

Check your injectors. Let it idle and pull off the clip on each one. If the motor sound DOES NOT change, there your problem.

how did you guys get to the blue/yellow wire on the female side of the bodyplugs, it seems almost impossible to get to?

so i unplugged the coilpacks one by one while the motor was running, each time one was unplugged, you could notice the difference, so i believe they are all working. I pulled out the cam angle sensor that is right near the injectors, when i pulled it out, the car was running, i pulled it and nothing changed, i looked in it and it was filled with oil over the electrical pins on both sides and there was oil sitting in the bottom of the female side. I cleaned it and plugged it back in, no fix, so i pulled it out and revved it up with the sensor unplugged, no difference. So is this my problem? keep your fingers crossed that it is, now i need to figure out where to get a new one

I hope this fixes your problem.

you can find them new at, make sure you search it under 2jz autozone or murray's.

2j's and 1jz's use the same CPS and there are 2 of them
