Default Coolant in Spark Plug valley

We'll the car started running rough the past couple of days. I decided to do a tune up. Upon changing the plugs I noticed the whole sparkplug valley had coolant in it. We'll that explains my misfire and lack of power. Question now is were the coolant can be coming from. I plan on doing the TB bypass to see if coolant is coming from there but any other suggestions ? Car does not blow smoke out the tail nor does it overheat. So i wouldn't think it could be the head gasket or am i just wrong on that assumption. I need to take a 2 1/2 hour trip tomorrow and don't want to kill the car on the drive. Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks
Jim

Welcome....

You have something bad going on with that coolant thing.
Check the lines you refered to...maybe check the lines going to the heatercore...

Use the "Advance Search feature" and keyword "coolant leaks" or "Coolant in Spark Plug valley"...

the coolant is getting past the hex bolts. i've tried a new washer, teflon tape, liquid gasket with no luck. i just ended up replacing the head. if you need a quick fix stuff the spark plug valley with cardboard, newspaper etc.... to soak up the coolant. it should be able to run a little longer without misfire from the spark plugs being drowned in coolant.

There's a coolant hose in the throttle body like you said, there's also one waay in the back of the engine. I'd assume you have a SC300, I've had similar problems. I'd just make sure both of those are tight on there since thats the most likley spot the coolant is coming from.
