Default Coolant Lid

there are two hoses on the coolant lid. one long one and one short one. what does the short one plug into? i'm not sure if it is supost to plug into something or not. on my car its like 3 inches long and it doens't plug into anything an that doesn't seem right to me. does anyone know or can anyone take a look and see what the two tube on their coolant cap plug into?

it doesn't plug into anything. i think its supposed to drain out excess coolant in case the coolant tank overflows.

yup and it leaves pink sticky $#@& that you have to wipe up.

i noticed i lost some fluid from overlow out of the radiator cap and that little extra hose.

I think it was from driving in the city during that heatwave we had early this summer.

i filled it back up with some red line water wetter and haven't seen any overflow yet. even with all the revving i do cuz of my intake. i can't seem to keep my foot off the floor
