Default Traction control removal? Questions? Help? Any experts?

6 speed swap help.
Everyone is speechless, Must have been me asking for experts! LOL
My 97 SC400 has traction control currently.
From all I have read you can’t use traction control on a Manual transmission. Right?
My car does not have a cover by the TB that says TRAC. Where is it?
How is traction control managed on my 97 SC400?
Will it work with my 6 speed swap?
Can it be removed if needed?
What will be the effects on the ECU?

Does anyone here have personal experience with the traction control on a car like mine?

Come on guys, I need your help on this.

I have no traction control on my SC with TT 6 speed.

According to Chad @ Speed 7 Sound, Arnold MO, he was not able to hook up wire harnesses because they are not comparable.
I still have ABS from Supra TT.

You might want to call him.

I've been looking into the same thing. Although I have a 93 SC400... the throttle body has 2 butterflies in it. I was told I could just swap in a Non-Trac Throttle body and use a resistor to fool the computer.

If you check out the other lexus forums, guys have removed the butterfly and welded/plugged the holes for the mounting bracket.

I wish I could find more out on this.

A lot of the guys on this forum are upping the perf. on our sc's, and I personaly have no use for trac. control. If the weather is that bad I can drive a 4x4. Instead of trying to find a non-trac. throttle body, I agree with the other guy, take the trac. cont. butterfly out of the orig. throttle body and plug the holes. A good port -job could then be done, if desired. I dont know any details about putting a resistor in to satisfy the comp. I think Scott could probably jump over to that other Lex. forum and ask Jibby, and then share that info. Probably some weight loss and cable clutter loss.

Your "TRACK" system is controlled by the “TRACK/ABS” ECU. It controls the system but is runs through the ECM. If it sees abnormality in the wheel speeds (from side to side but more from front to back) It will Tell the ECM to cut engine power and apply the brakes. PM me a Email address and I will send you a PDF EWD on your track system. Hope this helps.

Im asasuming it cuts power via the 2nd butterfly in the throttle body, which is what we want to remove. I believe the next question is what will thew comp. do when theres no engine decrease, and we've got the fuse pulled to cut the brake apply?

It controls the “throttle driver” and the “sub throttle driver” (AKA both of them).
