Default From D to N when brake is hit hard

my car 95 sc300 has 147,000 mile on it. when i hit a bumpy road and hit the brake. My shifter moves into neutral. it feels very lose.( easy to move from D to N. and also when in D i could go past D, right in the middle of D and 2.. and the light on the dash is on D... i am very very confused.. tranny mount? motor mount? o yeah also i think some one hit my car really hard in the front while i was parks.. ( maybe something shifted)..

There's some bent pipe that you need to fix near the tranny, I can't really remember where to find the thread.

its an automatic..it could shift into D 2 and L, but right before D it (the shifter) sits right near the neutral spot..and it seems like the tranny is not running right.. its not poppin or skipping, just seems a little off.. i'm going crazy.. my baby is sick..

I had that problem happen after my accident. The transmission is a bit out of alignment, and you need to have it realigned. Its not too hard, just a few bolts. In my car, the transmission would pop into neutral whenever I slammed on the brakes. Then I figured that if I overshoot the D by a few millimeters then it would stay locked. Also I had trouble removing the keys from when the car was in park, I had to slam the shifter forward, and then the keys would release.
