HKS or Titan cam gears???
i have a set of both, adjustable,(dont ask).....and i was wondering which ones are better,i hear the HKS tear belts, what about the titan...also the HKS are 3 bolt and the titan are 5 bolt.....letmeknow....NO this is not a thread of which look better...YES the HKS do by far.....let me know what you thnk
Five bolt, the HKS three bolt are notorious for slipping and bolts breaking. Use the Titan, its not a fashion show.
Before you install any cam gears, replace the bolts and nuts with the best high grade steel socket cap screws you can find (aircraft quality if you can find it). It is cheap insurance against breakage.
My Titan screws were not magnetic (not made of steel), they will break also. One snapped during dyno tuning after the fourth adjustment, however, at least the cam gear will still holds with four of them in place.

Titan cam gears are the way to go. But just FYI they are actually fidanza cam gears just rebadged.
The fidanza ones are cheaper then both, so your decision isnt that difficult now

The 3 bolt HKS issue is well documented on Supraforums. See this thread http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=324084

I was thinking "now is it HKS or Greddy that devours belts for lunch?"
I think it's safe to stay Fidenza is the way to go -- I've heard the rebaged bit about Titan's gears as well.
At this point the decision should be clear as day

I've had the HKS cam gears for about 30k and never had a single problem. Next time i guess ill go with Fidanza gears, or Titan if i feel like throwing $50 away. Same deal as the "Titan" crank pulley, just the same as my ATI dampner with a fancy sticker and a bloated price.
