Default I dont move in "drive"

So today I am FINALLY getting enough time to get the car licensed and registered here legally and go figure as I am going to get the money to pay for the sales tax *the final step of the process.* I reverse out of the DMV parking spot and put it into drive, I feel nothing engage and the car doesnt move..... So I tried the two low gears below it, no luck. Only reverse works now, I dont feel any forward gears engage when I try to. The transmission was previously shifting harsh sometimes when I initially put it into drive and would sometimes have a strange sound coming from it I would notice sometimes that is really tough to describe. Hate to say it but it sounded like something was "loose" inside. Now I dont hear anything.

Anyone have any idea or has had this problem in the past?

Thanks,

Brett Thomson

Sounds like you have no fluid pressure. Possible bad tranny pump.
