That's what it sounds like. Does it make the noise when you go into reverse? Fri nurturant to any other gear?

Besides that odd noise, does it drive and shift fine while driving? Any slipping when @ WOT?

I had a similar sound on an older car. Inspect your tranny and motor mounts. Both of mine were shot on that car so i replaced both and didnt have the issue. I also thought it was just time for transmission fluid but didnt do that. I just can't tell you which was the issue of a combo of both. Only happened from Park down to reverse also on flat or sloped parking. Mine was a hard THUMP.

^The key to parking on a slope is setting the E-brake first, and then put the car into PARK.

I have the same issue wit my 06 is350.
I thought that it was transmission fluid problem.
But it makes the same clunking noise after changing the fluid.
As Mikefoxx mentioned, should i inspect the tranny and motor mounts??

Hands down yes... I actually use my parking brake every time since that experience. And yes on a slope I release the brake only after its in reverse or drive.... now lol
