Default Car started over heating...

I was second in line at a red light when a G35 coupe pulled up next to me and then started to rev his engine.when the light changed we got ahead of the other 2 cars and got up to 110mph with him at my passenger door(why he did not blow by me,I have no idea).Anyway after that I pull up at the lakefront where I was going and relize that I had a enough smoke coming from under my hood to singal a helicopter. The cap where you put the coolent in at was not that hot though. The smoke was coming from something by the passenger side firewall.I have not found out where its coming from yet. It really pissed me off that it had to happen on a sunday night in front everyone out at the lake.

Now did ur temp gauge go up indicating you were overheating or are you putting that down to the smoke/steam??

Let's go from there.

The needle normally sits right under the middle of the gauge and when I stoped I relized that it moved right over the top of the middle of the gauge. When my thermastat went out in a Chevy I used to have, the needle shot right up and cought my eye but in the Sc3 it didn't do that so I don't know when it moved.
