Riddle me this Batman.....what would it take to add an IS300 steering wheel and make the shift buttons work on the steering wheel if applied to my 93 SC400?. It may have been discussed and I couldn't find it in the forums but I would love to have it done to my 93 SC.

I'm going to ignore:
1) The fact that my search for 3 spoke steering wheel turned up in 7 seconds...
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=153576
2) You posted in the wrong section

and go ahead and answer your question regardless.

1) The IS steering wheel has a 2 stage airbag. You've got a 1 stage... the connectors don't fit.
2) It's a completely different transmission, the shift buttons won't work. Wire them up for something else. Like shields up and down for your batmobile or something.
3) About connectors: use the adaptor on a RAV4 or other stage 1 lexus/toyota steering wheel. P/N is in that thread.

Thank you for your input. I read the thread and I didn't see where it addressed my question about being compatible with the transmission.(Even though it did come up quickly) Also I was wondering where I should have posted since I was in the SC400 section which included transmission questions and info....and after all that is what I was inquiring about. And finally, I deeply regret using the "batman icon" since it seemed to really touch a very sensitive nerve with everyone that responded.....perhaps this one would be more appropriate
Just a little joke........."Boy Wonder"

Wrong, the is300 wheel is single stage (at least mine is). I have one in my car, so do other members. Don't know about the eshift.

it depends on the year I guess -- most of the ones on ebay I saw when I was looking were dual stage. I'm going to speculate that in 2002 they switched to dual stage, since a number of lexus & toyota cars made in 01 have single stage airbags as well. It's really easy to tell the difference. Dual stage has two plugs, single just has one.

E-shift definately is a no go -- the SC3/4 auto doesn't have a manual mode like the IS & GS.
