I searched, But I need help For 1JZ!
Hi Guys,
I have sc3 with 1JZ swap. It looks like my waterpump is going out real soon.
SO here is my question: I know supra water pump (2JZ) will fit, but whatelse I should get besides the waterpump? I hear Fan assembly, does it mean the whole assembly with fan clutch and fan from Supra TT too?? If I source out all of them brand new will be very expensive. I wish I just have to get the waterpump and fit the rest of the stock 1JZ fan and fan clutch on it. will it fit? Or shoudl I just go with electric fans? ( I hope I don;t have to since the electric fans are very expensive.)
Please help! I really appreciated!

2JZGTE waterpump is a direct replacement.
Electric fans also can cost you under $100 for a complete setup. Do some searchs on supra forums for ford electric fans. Im running a 2spd ford contour fan on my 1JZ sc300. $40 for fan, and another $20 or so for relays and switches and stuff. On high speed it flows over 3800CFM. More then most of those high $$$$ fans ppl fall for. And it fits a supra radiator perfectly.

Change that timing belt while u got it off also. Its also a good time to install some adjustable cam gears!
If the main pully bolt has never come off your 1jz before, youll need a MASSIVE impact wrench to take it off. Im talking about 3/4in impact, i tried several 600+ ft/lb 1/2in and they didnt do it. The whole job is very easy tho, i had the whole car apart from start to finish with new waterpump, timing belt, cam gears back on the road in under an hour and a half taking my time.
The OEM waterpump has a plastic impeller.. it sucks. IF you get a new 2jzgte water pump from autozone for $55 bux, its all metal.

the should will have .5in of space on top to botton, and around 3in on each side. So yeah, fits fine. The junkyard here in orlando has about 5 of them. They come off mid 90s taurus, contour, etc... Its a 2spd slimline single fan, make sure u get the plugs and wires too. I dont have a 2swich relay yet, but i just keep mine on high speed, i like the sound. Low speed (2200cfm or so) cools the car just fine also.

Thanks
I love working on sc300's and the 1jz. Anything i learn i love to share, unlike some other people on the forums that own 1jz's. The more people that own them, the better the aftermarket support will be. Just in the last month or so the engine has really caught the american aftermarket eye. I say a year from now, 1jz SC's will be a main stream car just like sr20det 240s, supra tts, etc.. Some people fear that, i love it. To me that just means more cool parts that will be developed and sold
