Default Help me pick out which mufflers I want.

I'm trying to pick out mufflers for my SC300 with a new 1JZ swap. I want a full 3" exhaust using two mufflers......... I've noticed the popular 14829's are only 2.25" diameter. I need some help..... can someone point me to the right muffler? I want quiet mufflers......

I'm going to use Magnaflow mufflers, sorry if I didn't get that across in the first post.

What's the difference between single and double walled?

I don't think that really describes the meaning. You can get single & dual tips on each magnaflow muffler. If you run two single tipped mufflers they can still be single walled.

Well I'm looking at the race series mufflers that have tips. I'm guessing I'll get a 3" inlet/outlet with a 4" tip. I was thinking a double walled muffler would be quieter?

Are you just going to get the mufflers? if so you should just stick to the 2.5" because I know the stock pipes arent near 3".

I say take a risk and be different.

No offense to anyone with the 1422309423042....It's just my personal opinion that everyone has it.

i cant wait to get my rims in so i can ship my rims and kit together so i can finally get my exhaust....

i dont think u need to get dual 3" mufflers. get ur 3" down pipe, 3" mid pipe, then split it to the 2 2.25 mufflers. no need for 3" piping after the midpipe.

just my opinion, but i would run a 3" DP, and mid pipe, to a Y, then just go with 2.5" piping to the mufflers... and throw in a high flow cat before the Y. if you go 3" all the way back with dual, i dont think it will sound or perform well with the 1J... but thats just me.

Well I've decided to get 2.5" mufflers. Do I need a center/center offset? How long of a case can I get... they have 14" and 18" ?
