sc400 V8 manual transmission conversions?
Hi there, Im very curious as to if there are any manual transmissions that could bolt up or be modified to fit on to the sc400's V8. Also, Im sure there would need to be a new differential as well.
Does anyone have any ideas for this? Please let me know - I see huge potential in the sc400's v8, and am leaning away from the whole Supra swap 2jz/1jz route and thinking i'd like to rebuild an older sc400 i can get my hands on (150,000k on the motor) and perhaps look at a supercharger/turbo set up. But that automatic is going to rob some serious power, and also I just love a 5speed!!
Suggestions??
Im looking into a Toyota Tundra, which so far I've found does come in a 6 speed manual transmission for the v8, but im not sure if this would work, or if i have found the right information/.
Thanks!

right well i found that the R154 toyota transmission out of the 87-92 Supra will do the trick with a little custom fabbing
Any info about how much power this can take? Or how I'll ahve to change the diff?
Thanks!

Show us where you got the info for the 6spd. Tundra V8; the V6 is the only engine in the truck lineup to get a manual, and that's in the Tacoma, to the best of my knowledge anyways.

I think swapping in a ls1 would be crazy, considering you can get in a 1uz for only hundreds of dollars. Also it would be a very tight fit considering the 1uz is pretty snug in the sc, the engines are 5.7 liters. If you need a manual you can probably go to a shop and get them to fab u an adapter plate and drive shaft, for thousands less that a lsx swap would be. Although the lsx motors are much easier to mod, so if you want high hp and loads of tq maybe the ls is a good choice. I would sell it and get a gto thats probably what ill be doing.
