Per your experience, any good/bad about this plan?
Thanks

Seems pricey to me. Especially since I’m a 2-4 year owner and only do the bare minimum maintenance, and only do it at an independent.

By the way, does the 2023 RX come with “free” 5000 and 10,000 dealer service like my prior Lexi did? Now that you brought this issue up, I don’t think they mentioned this like they usually do.

you are right they didn't mention it at first, I have to ask to clarify that. The dealer told me the prepaid plan covers 6yrs/50K, I asked if it's 1yr(free)+6ys (total 7yrs)? then they confirm it's 1ys(free)+5yrs plan.

Don't do it unless your dealer is a charity and you want to contribute.

Prepaid maintenance plan is not worth imo.
The 5k/10k service comes free with lexus but 5k service does not include oil change. The cost of oil change at a dealership is around $150.

I'll have to ask what my dealer charges. $150 USD (I assume) is insane.

I bought my 10 year old Lexus because of the touted reliability, so I didn't opt for any extended warranties or other pre paid stuff (junk). Ten years later I can say it was the right move, I have had absolutely zero repairs (other than brakes).

That's roughly what most of them charge. $100 for the oil change and $50 for the crappy bagel you get in the waiting area I stopped using the dealer for oil changes and now my independent costs me under $90 for full synthetic Penzoil. Plus tire rotation is free if I want it.

I just called the dealer - $149 CAD (about $110 USD). Really not that bad, being a dealer and all. The aftermarket places charge over $100 CAD. Plus taxes.

50,000 miles prepaid maintenance would not come close to what I pay over 50,000 miles.
five oil changes $65x5 $325
brake fluid change at 30,000 miles $120
changing cabin and air filter twice $100 takes less then five minutes even for me
four tire rotations $80
Total maintenance cost for 50,000 miles of driving $625
These are all done at my Lexus dealership.
The oil changes I take my Mobil 1 bought at Walmart for $24 for a five quart jug and my Toyota oil filter bought on line for $6 and my dealership charges me $35 labor. I do this to save a little money but more because I want Mobil 1 in my vehicles.

Which brand synthetic do the Lexus dealers use when they supply it?

I am surprised a dealer would let you BYOO (oil) and BYOF (filter). Never seen that.

The Toyota dealer I've used (but will use no more, long story) just refers to it as bulk oil (0W-20),,,not sure there's much difference these days. I'm sure it's fine, my car seems to think so.

on some of the other forums I’m on, it appears to be pretty common.

Local Lexus shop foreman just told me they use 100 gallon drums to fill their vehicles. So it is bulk oil. It is not Mobil 1 or Toyota synthetic. Service Manager told me a couple years ago the brand and I had heard of it but was not a major brand like Mobil, Pennzoil, Castrol etc.
