There are a couple people on here with 1jz swapped sc400s as well
Wow that's awesome. Thanks for more inspiration lol. I was quite close to giving up. =\

What I was trying to get at was that more parts are compatible. Meaning less expense is wasted on parts. Am I right? And are the trannies not mateable between the 1UZ and 2JZ.

Well i know you can't mate the w58 or any 6spd tranny to the 1uz, but I'm sure you can for the 2jz :P. I'm saving now for stuff so I'm only swapping out the engine when i have the transmission and all that stuff.

Seems like a lot of work, but i got the car for free =P

Ha sweet deal dude!
I can't give you any pointers I don't know what your final outcome would be.
If you were going the 2JZGTE route and the 6-spd, well hell do it since you're switching the tranny anyway.

Me myself I like the 1UZ, there's potential in this V8. My plans are TT, 5-spd. Although my route is probably alot more expensive than yours.

Good luck in any case and update us on your project! And welcome to CL!

Well I have a lot of saving to do. I'm gonna find a couple buddies to work with me so that I can do the swap on my own and not have to pay some shop for mad labor.

Good luck on your route though. You'll be paying up the booty for gas though =[.
