Question SC400 1jz swap or supercharger??

Ok guys the time has come where I want more horsepower and I'm kinda stuck between doing a 1jz swap, or just going ahead and supercharging the 1uz, most likely with the m90 supercharger.

My hp goals are anywhere from 350-400, with possibly a chance to grow. Also I want to take into consideration price of each route. Which will be cheaper? As far as I've read, the 1jz should be cheaper. Another thing is reliability, I want a reliable daily driver and I don't want to worry about anything happening to my engine while driving down the road...

I'm really leaning towards the 1jz more than supercharging just because I feel like it's easier to grow on a jz platform and there's plenty of support around them.

But really I just want a public opinion on what is more practical for me, and just to hear some opinions!

Thanks guys!

1JZ is way cheaper and has the potential of the most power for the money. Either is not going to be cheap, if done correctly.

with the m90 you´ll be stuck in a fun car but soon you´ll want more power. You should go with a twin-screw or a vortech if supercharged.
I recommend you instead, a turbo setup. Once you have the piping work done, 350-400hp will be an easy and reliable power goal with lots of torque too.

Thanks for the response. I must say you were probably the biggest influence in me thinking about the 1jz swap, your swap is really pretty awesome.

I think if I do end up swapping I'll just keep the stock twins in while I save up money for a single. What's a typical price range of the swap? Just keeping it all stock and just basically dropping it in etc.

Maybe 2K if you dont swap out to a manual and keep the stock auto. I would do the seals, vacuum lines, and belts at a bare minimum.
