WHP limits on the stock 5spd?
Just looking for any info on WHP limits on the stock 5spd?
I did a search and came up with ~400wtq from Angel, IIRC.
Just seeing if there was any more info
Thanks

I have a friend with a 2JZ truck that had a W58 in it and made 690 whp. The driveshaft twisted at the line and then he parted it out shortly after that but this was all in a Toyota truck. I don't believe the tranny broke, but I can ask him tomorrow to be sure.
This question seems to be asked often and I myself am going to see how far I can push the stock 5 spd. If it blows up at 300, then let it be. If it blows up at 600, that's also fine. Either way, I've blown up too many trannys anyways in my other cars, so a W58 wouldn't be my first

This is a very odd topic. I have customers who have had their tranny's go out at 370whp and others who are fine with 500whp+. It's just a gamble simply put!

it all depends on how the tranny was treated before the turbo i think. If the oil was kept fresh and the driver drove flawlessly, it will probably last longer than the tranny in the car whos owner taught his daughter how to drive stick where the gears grinded every other shift and never had an oil change. Just like everyones said, some have had them fail at 350rwhp while others have had them well above the 500+ mark
