Default What was Lexus thinking with the wipers?

Is it me, or was Lexus asleep at the wheel when they chose to go with a proprietary wiper attachment that no wiper manufacturer has touched in the 3 model years the NX has been out. My new 2017 NX has to have the worst OEM blades on any car I've ever owned. Yes, I live in WI & I've already gone through 3 tanks of washer fluid so far this winter, but to chatter and streak with less than 1000 miles on the odometer is ridiculous and I can't do a damn thing about it. Thanks Lexus!

Default Try new OEM inserts

Take your blades off, remove the inserts, take them into your local Toyota dealer, buy new inserts, replace inserts, reinstall blades. This can be done in the dealer parking lot in about 10 minutes. Best wishes.

Get some cerium oxide powder , polish your windshield with it. Really work it... THEN put new wiper inserts in.... -> Best performing wipers I have ever had.

I can fully sympathize with wiper chatter/judder and really wouldn't wish that on my worst enemies... Well, maybe I would... But anyway.... yeah, I went on a crusade against wiper judder and found that cerium oxide powder is your best friend in this case.
Please do some googling of that stuff, it's really cool...

I have no idea. We don't have bar keepers friend in Malaysia (had to google it to find out what it was) but I don't think it has Cerium Oxide in it. Cerium Oxide is a micro abrasive glass polisher that's guaranteed to remove any crap sticking to your windshield (like oh so horrible rain-x) and can even remove light scratches.

I think you should be able to get it cheaply and quickly on ebay.

Strange you have wiper issues. Mine still has the originals (2 years) and wipe perfectly. Far better than my new Audi. Perhaps Canadian NX models have heavier-duty blades.

Regardless, if they're really bad, get them warranty replaced at the dealer.

Rain-X now offers for sale the Rain-X Latitude Water Repellency wipers and the Rain-X Arch which both fit the Lexus NX arms. In the case of the high end Latitude wiper make sure you get the Water Repellency model. The plain Latitudes will not fit the narrow PTB attachment of the Lexus arm.

hmm, I've had my NX for over 2 years now and never had any chatter here in rainy Florida.

I found it's really a hit n miss affair. It afflicts some cars and not others. I am guessing it has to do with how the windshield was treated...

Suspect legrunt is right - it occasionally rains here in England and haven't had any issues with the wipers after 18 months. The autosensing works well too, not oversensitive like some other cars I've driven.
