Lexus interface or Apple car Play/Android Auto?
Picked up our 2023 NX 350h last week. Learning about all the tech. Experimented using the Lexus system and for me Android Auto. See advantages for both. What is everyone using and why? What are advantages you have found for both. Android Auto gives me the abiltity to use a wallpaper, have a split screen and Google podcast appear chronologically. Annoyance for the Lexus system is a new text message pops up on the screen for only about four seconds then disappears. On Android Auto like our two 2017 ES and RX the message stays until you read it. When I use the Lexus system and attached Ipod for podcast in this vehicle they all appear alphabetically not by newest first. Will be interesting to see what you are using and why and a couple of good finds for both.
After a lengthy period of experimentation in my 2022 NX350 Turbo, I've chosen - with one exception - to settle on CarPlay due to the ability to split the screen and, as the OP notes, better deal with incoming texts. I also prefer the map presentation in CarPlay, though it's a close call. The exception: I'm a fan of XM satellite radio (it always will be "XM" for me), and I listen to it through a subscription in the Lexus system rather than at no cost through the CarPlay XM app on my phone, as I find the sound quality somewhat better through the Lexus antenna.
I just picked up a new 2023 NX 350h Premium, so I was curious about the Lexus interface, and hopeful that it might be worthy of upsetting CarPlay. But, after several attempts to get directions to a local restaurant that has two locations, and "Hey Lexus" would only find one of them, even when I told it what street it was on. I gave the same command to Apple CarPlay, and instantly had the right location.
Car companies need to focus more on how to integrate into Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Icons for the car settings within those applications instead of trying to re-invent what has already been perfected by Apple and Google. My friend has a Tesla, Model S, and that interface is pretty amazing, so it can be done, however, he still laments over not having CarPlay available.
Give me an Apple Maps screen that is as big as the Lexus Nav and I will sing their praises to the moon!!!

All CarPlay unless I need to access Lexus settings.
I am an Android user, but one annoyance I constantly come across is going between satellite radio and music on my phone. If I am playing music from my phone, I have to go to the Lexus interface to use the satellite radio. Is there a way to access that through Android Auto?

Android Auto 100% of the time for me. Especially now that Google are starting to roll out the new updated user interface (codenamed Coolwalk). Looks fantastic on the 14" screen. It also provides the ability to run Google Maps full screen.
I know it's never going to happen but I would love Lexus to update the Infotainment system so that you can further extend the screen real estate devoted to Android Auto / Apple CarPlay (i.e. similar to the option to extend the native navigation screen by removing the first line of climate control "buttons").
