Default Auto climate question

Whenever I hit auto for a/c I get the red showing up for steering wheel and seats. Is this normal? Does it mean they’re going to heat up?
with summer temps I sure don’t need either. Nor in winter!

My steering wheel does not feel warm when in auto so I don’t think it is on even though the red light is on. Would like to see what others think

The auto seat and steering wheel feature works very well through my experience. I can hear the seat fans turn on during the warmer months and can feel the heat on both seat and steering wheel during the colder months. I can’t tell you the exact outside temperature these features turn on but they do automatically turn on when needed.

You can turn off auto by pressing them again. As long as your AC is set to auto, they may turn on automatically

I believe this may be related to what Lexus call "Climate Concierge". This is a function that you can turn on via the "Climate" section of the Infotainment system touch screen. Basically it will automatically turn on the seat heaters; the front seat ventilators and the heated steering wheel when the a/c is set at AUTO. Here is an extract from the manual that hopefully explains it:-

Thanks for responders. Kept seeing those 2 red thinking they would heat up etc. So much technology in this car. Way past my 73 year old brain.

Yeah, we love Climate Concierge! Basically, ya don't need to worry about controlling anything - other than the temp *****. The car will just "do what's best" based on the temp and activate the steering wheel heater and the seat heater/cooler as appropriate. Try it for awhile, it's pretty great!
