I've just made a YouTube video showing my install/upgrade and hopefully giving you some insight into what I ended up doing to upgrade.I didn't do it myself as it's quite the process. It has so far played very well with the system (gps, alerts, etc) you can still adjust EQ, etc as you could with the pioneer (base) just like with the OEM. I'll upload shortly. Let me know if you have any q's or if you would like me to address any q"s. or show things in greater detail. It's an expensive upgrade but if you intend on keeping this 22 NX for many years I say go for it!

I got the 450h/ Honestly, its only about 20% better with the ML...Just turn up the base 80, you are fine. The base model is adequate and I love hip hop music.

Audio is truly subjective and I can understand why bass is good enough for many/most. Audio systems today are so much better than those in the 2000's. If you want high end and stream at lossless/ high bit rate, the Pioneer is not good in my opinion. I would have to go back to my vehicle from 2009 to get something comparable. It's a lot of $ to upgrade amd would definitely recommend trying the pioneers as they may be all you need before spending the $ on enhancing. You do introduce risks in upgrading as this is a new hardware setup with early adoption issues.

I tried that approach and found them to be significantly worse than my Ford Escape and Subaru offerings. I was super disappointed in the stock NX speakers and am glad they are gone..

 

Thanks for the video. Did you a PAC amp pro or equivalent to connect the dsp to the factory connectors to keep the chimes?

 

I still have all of the standard chimes, etc. So I believe this was done to preserve the facorty chimes etc.. not sure how they wired bit i can send additional pics if it would be helpful.

 

I have Mark Levinson in my ISF, so I held out for Mark Levinson in my NX350h. It caused a long delay in getting my car but it’s finally been allocated so I should have it in August! Can’t wait!

 

Honestly, this is a pathetic sound system for a Premium level vehicle. My 2020 NX didn't have the ML upgrade, but it was ten times better than this!

 

Mine sounds fine for Spotify music or podcasts and Android Auto works flawlessly. What specific deficiencies are y'all experiencing? Coming from a 2020 300h that also had good sound, I didn't think another $3K for ML was worth it.
