MidCow3--which will you buy as replacement tires the Michelin or Pirelli? I know you've done the research on these so which way do you lean and why? Thanks...
@romer I am leaning toward the CrossClimate2 because they have a long tire warranty ( which to me means longer, better wear ), I like Michelin brand and almost all response I have seen from CrossClimate users are very good.
YMMV,
MidCow3
P.S. - Haven't been driving the NX all that much, Only have 12,700 miles right now.
These are becoming increasingly popular where I live, where many retirees don’t want to switch out to winter tires. Definitely on my short list for replacement options.
My wife's Honda Pilot has had CrossClimates 2 for three years with over 30K miles on them. These tires have been great in all weather conditions including snow/slush we occasionally get in mid-Atlantic.
Of course, this experience is paired with an excellent AWD system on the Pilot. In my experience the electronic AWD on 450H+ is not as confidence-inspiring as Pilot's, at least with "everyone favorite" Bridgestone RFTs.
The noise level with CC seems to be about the same as it was with OEMs. Based on the current wear, I expect their thread to last 60+K.
The only negative seems to be a reduced fuel economy. I don't keep track of the fuel usage, but it feels somewhat worse than the previous set of tires.

After about 4,000 miles on my 2022 RX350 F-Sport I replaced the original tires with the Cross Climate 2 because I wanted a better wet weather tire...and was rewarded with the best all-around tire I've ever ridden on.
However, the mpg dropped just over two miles per gallon and stayed there until I traded in the RX for a 2024 NX350h.
I replaced the OEM tires with CC2 on 22 NX350 within the first 100 miles, so I did not have a lot of expereince with noise or MPG. What I have noticed on the CC2 is a low tire growl on relatively core asphalt roads- esp at low speeds when in hybrid mode. Just easy to hear every thing there. On new asphalt or concrete, they are acceptablely quite.
But living in Colorado, they are really the best all weather 3Peak tire available for the NX with a long tread life. The tire wear so far has been great. On MPG, I do get around town in summer with relaxed driving 42-44 MPG. In winter it drops with the winter gas and cold about 10%.
Would buy again considering alll the other options, as noted.
Two thumbs up for Michelin CrossClimate2 tires. I had put a set on my wife's previous ride, a 2017 Acura RDX, which we donated to our DIL and son, after our purchase of her 2024 NX450h+. I feel that they are a great tire and found them after seeing many favorable reviews. I plan to replace the RFT's on the NX with these when they wear to a point that they need replacement.
