Is anyone else having an issue with their LED interior lights? Mine are so dim. It requires absolute darkness for them to be noticeable. A little bit of external light and they're (the LED lights) gone/not visible. Wondering if I should go back to the dealer?

@RXWes is correct you can adjust the brightness and color and theme of the ambient light on the customization panel, but even at their brightest they are not meant as reading lights, but only as background or ambiance lights. Think of them as background lights driving at night not to distract your driving or looking at your primary driving gauges and displays.
Lexus has never been huge on ambient lighting.. A stark difference from stepping into a present day Mercedes where it almost feels spaceship like depending on settings and how much ambient lighting there is from the factory. Seems like they are just getting crazier each year along with animating it when you do different functions such as temp increase/decrease or opening the rear passenger doors. I feel like we are many years away from that with Lexus, but the fact that Lexus did add more ambient lighting that can be customized in brightness and color to the next gen NX is a big step up!

But just as everyone has said it's ambient lighting, not made to stand out and be bright.

Is that the "S" or this year's "C" class?
I would love to get the "C" class sedan with that new display, but man, does Mercedes value drop once you ride it off the lot. I also hear they aren't dependable repair wise. Maybe you have a better experience to report.
For years, Lexus has decided, wisely (I think), to take a more subtle approach to ambient lighting. I have no interest at all in having ambient lighting that makes me feel like I'm sitting in front of an arcade game.
Lighting from inside the cabin can, especially when driving on roads with no man-made lighting, reflect up onto the windshield, and that reduces the view of the unlit road. As someone who lives in a remote area with lots of unlit roads, I end up reducing all in-cabin lighting to a minimum for safety reasons, and less than subtle ambient light has no appeal to me at all.
