2022 NX 2nd generation 1st year problems
So far, we've had plenty of issues with our 2022 NX350:
1. New flat panel instrument cluster rattles, especially around the driver side air vent. It's a constant buzz on some freeway surfaces. There are youtube videos of this at this point. It needs to be removed and insulated with foam pads or similar.
2. Center storage bin uses a new double hinge design. The lid rattles and creeks. I've had to insert foam insulation pads in multiple places to prevent it from shifting side to side and rattling. It can be done and is worth it.
3. the lower front seat belt anchors need to be insulated from knocking against the plastic trim panels. I've also done this with foam/fuzzy pads.
4. The engine exhibits knock and detonation mostly under load between 2-3K RPM. I've pumped 100 octane racing fuel into the tank but there is still some knock. Lexus really needs to refine this engine. It sounds fine when you rev it at a stop light but once it's under load, the knock returns. There's a post on this forum referring to "turbo gargling sound" or something, which is really about this engine knock problem. The engine management software needs to be updated to control knock better. Not sure why this hasn't received a TSB or Recall yet. It's really noticeable.
5. The power tailgate has absurd logic. You can close it while you are standing there, but if you push the close/lock button, it won't close until you walk away from the vehicle. WHY?
Those are the most pressing issues we want fixed. If I think of any more, I'll post them.

You're at the pearly gates of the afterlife and the gatekeeper asks you, "Friend, how did you get here?
And you reply, my very expensive nice car chopped off my head because I didn't get out of the way when closing the trunk!🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, I see the slight differences in functionality, but seems to add too much unnecessary complexity.

The kick sensor is great to open the trunk, you can use the kick sensor to close, but it doesn't lock the trunk I don't remember if that can be changed using the Lexus Personalized Settings
YMMV,

My 2022 NX350h infotainment unit has a problem. Bluetooth disconnect randomly while playing music from my iphone 13pro. Wireless Apple Carplay freezes all the time so I don't used Apple Carplay at all. I took the SUV to the dealer for service 3 times for the Bluetooth issue. At the end they blamed my iphone 13Pro. I told the mechanic I used other iphone 13 pro and has the same problem. Service adviser told me nothing they can do and I have to wait for software update.
[QUOTE=lucky482;11281356]I owned my 2022 NX 350 Premium for a whole 2 weeks and returned it at a huge loss to me and bought my old F-sport back. Why?
1) the user profile never automatically prompted me to enter my code when I got into the car and I had to go into settings and manually force it. If I happened to forget? Oh well, can only do it while parked which did me absolutely no good while i was stuck in traffic on the highway trying to find an alternative to get home. You don’t get any of your subscriptions or recent destinations in guest mode.
2) while my text messages played back when I received them, I couldn’t get back to them via bluetooth. There was nothing there. Had to use carplay.
3) the wireless cell phone charging pad was sporadic. It usually never worked.
4) the windshield wipers would never go to the edge of the windshield despite being adjusted by service and stopped right in my field of vision, leaving a 4 inch gap on the left side of the windshield that I couldn’t see out of when it rained.
5) The gas engine has a feature that when you step on the brake will shutoff and start the engine like a hybrid to save gas. While this sounds like a great feature on paper, it cannot be disabled and can only be temporarily shut off via a button that resets when you shut off the car. Sounds great? Yeah… sure. My car stopped and started so much in stop and go traffic on the highway that it literally killed my battery. It got so low that the auto shutoff stopped functioning altogether with an error that said “battery charging” for 3 days afterwards. This was the killer for me.
on top of all of this, the day I picked up my car, it wouldn’t connect to any of Lexus’s services while at the dealership so I couldn’t even go through any of the settings while I was there. I spent 10 hours, wasted a work day, and they were back and forth with tech support trying to get my car to even function.

The manual basically says if you have any accessories in the area of the kick sensor, just turn the whole thing off and forget about using it.

bottom line, this car is a piece of crap and feels like a cheap Toyota instead of a lexus. Unless they make some big improvements, my 2020 NX will be the last lexus I own and I’ve had 4 of them previously.
