Water stains?
I bought a new cover today since that one was a couple years old. I think if I’m going to be away for a while and I know that it’s gonna be raining in my absence. I’ll just leave the cover off and try and deal with whatever else sticks to it in the meantime. I’m worried about bird droppings though. If that sits on there for over two weeks, won’t that
The large stains on the hood do seem to be slightly fading, I think? I’m gonna give it a couple more weeks to see if there’s noticeable change. If not, I’ll take it in and have an expert look at it. My dealer will probably recommend I replace the entire hood!
I also bought some turtle wax rain repellent to maybe do some DYI stuff on it.
Please be sure to let us know if your new cover works and what brand it was and if you recommend or not.
Just remember, when it's warm enough and left in direct sunlight is when the "self-healing" will take place in the top coat.
Did you also buy some type of water spot removal, or are you counting on the self healing to work before you do?

I also got a new cover:EZY SHADE
But I didn’t even get it all the way out of the box before I stuffed it right back in and started the paperwork to send it back. The underside, which was supposed to be soft. It was barely any different than the outer layer.
I decided just to get a newer version of the cover I had before because it has a nice soft interior lining. I just know now that I won’t be leaving it on for extended periods if there’s any water in the forecast.
I really like the Kayme cover.
UPDATE:
The True Coat is like magic! I made sure the NX was in full sunlight today, came back late afternoon, and I can barely see the water spots now!
I purchased Chemical Guys Water spot remover as recommended above:

Thanks for the all the updates — Well done, you 🙌
So happy to report that there is a not a single trace of a stain left! Leaving it in the sun over the past week slowly got rid of all of the white blotches. The new cover arrived and it definitely looks and feels much different than my old one. I guess they have a shelf life of less than two years. I don’t think that the material is different so much as it just got old baking under the sun. So I’m just gonna run with this cover and keep an eye on it after about a year and a half. And I won’t be leaving it on if I’m going to be away during a rainy period. Also, the chemical guys rain spot remover arrived, and I realized that is actually for addressing water spots that leave a residue on top of the paint. The problem I had was that the water was INSIDE the paint. It didn’t have any residue on the surface that you can dissolve or scrape away. It just made the actual paint milky white. So I didn’t use it. I guess the only alternative if you
don’t have sun to do the healing is maybe a hairdryer? But just so glad I don’t have to repaint the hood!

So glad to hear all is well again
I do believe that your water stains/issues were in or underneath your clear Top Coat that made the white blotches on top of your paint and not in your actual paint color.
Regardless -- Thanks for the update and hope all goes well with your car cover.
Sad, they only last for so long before you have to fork out more money for another one.
But, if it does the job well, then I suppose all the money spent is worth it.
