Hi all,

My apple carplay randomly disconnects sometimes (only) during phone calls. Sometimes it goes well without error for a few days and then again: boom! It disconnects, the infotainment system returns to the lexusOS and the phone call continues on the iphone in my pocket.
I have tried everything to fix it, but nothing works.

IOS26 on iphone 15 pro. Also lexusOS is up to date.

someone else here has (had) the same issue? Any solution?

 

I would guess it's location related. You're moving between cell towers and may be encountering dead spaces. Not that uncommon when driving.

 

hmmm I doubt that is it, as my phonecall continues , only not on carplay

I have had this happen twice with my 16 Pro and IOS 18. I haven't had a call duration more than a couple of minutes since upgrading to IOS 26 so I cannot compare with your exact scenario. So not common, but it has happened.

 

My carplay rarely disconnects unless there is interference with the connection. Been on calls for over an hour, but I do think it could happen since it's wireless. If you are concern, with the disconnection and the call is important - maybe wired connection would be more reliable.

 

Be sure to report it to Apple. I think it must be a bug in CarPlay.

I have not had this problem.

 

As LSFT has suggested, as a temporary 'fix' possibly use a wired connection to see if calls are not dropped, possibly a new iOS issue.
