RX to NX
Have owned a few RXs but for cost and asthetic reasons, I just bought an NX PHEV and really like it. Had a full EV for 2+ years and sold it - one reason being we didn't want to wait at charging stations for longer trips (so we drove my wifes' Subaru). With this PHEV, I use the battery for local trips (most of my driving). Then use both battery and gas for longer trips and still with great gas mileage!
As one commenter stated, insurance is a BIG factor and you must compare - not only Lexus brands but other luxury models you might consider.

I went from a 22' RX450h to a 25' NX350. I miss the RX, NX is too small, specifically the cargo area and the storage in the doors of the NX is useless. NX is more fun to drive and handles nicely. Selling the NX as we speak and moving to a GX. I just need more room!
We are looking for a RX replacement.
I don't like the RFT on the NX and I just carry an air inflator kit. I will replace the RFT when it wears down more.
Isn't there like a crazy waitlist for the GX?
GX is body on frame and TX is unibody. GX can tow up to 8,000 lbs. and TX can only tow 5,000 lbs.
Regarding RX versus NX ride quality: I had the perfect opportunity to compare the two several weeks ago. We dropped off our NX450h+ for service and I received an RX350h as a loaner. The two vehicles' curb weights are about five pounds apart. The ride with the RX was a bit softer, but I was focused on comparing the two. I'm not sure anyone would really notice unless they were able to compare them back-to-back and was really familiar with the ride quality of one of them.
Otherwise I found the two vehicles to be comparable, with the RX having more length to mind when I was in close quarters like backing into a parking spot. The two interiors are almost identical which made it a snap to set the RX's mirrors, seats, and ventilation to my liking before leaving the dealership. The RX, of course, had more interior space. We had a Gen2 RX before, which was about the same size as our NX450h+.

You can find one at MSRP without waiting. I have purchased two in the past 6 mo., both from Shottenkirk Desert Lexus, Cathedral City, CA. I just looked, they have one right now and 3 in transit. When you see what you want, you have to jump on it. You will have to make some compromises, it's expected. Do not pay 4k for the Automate coating b.s., I did the 1st time not knowing, 2nd one I refused, got them down to $1900, wanted the car so I paid it - still sour over it! Happy hunting!
While OP's question was about "size", and I almost got the NX450H+ but chose the RX450H+ for reasons that were nonnegotiable in favor of the RX to me: The eye-tracking ADS in RX which doesn't require me to keep hands on wheel when on long drives along isolated stretches of highway or as frequently as NX when in heavy commuting traffic (NX only senses the steering wheel touching) - the ADS has additional sensors and compute in the RX that Lexus "cost-cut" in the NX, and other minor but valued features such as audible alerts for blind-spot monitor which is apparently only visual alerts. I wish Lexus didn't do this cost-cutting in the NX, but I had to choose the RX because of these aspects as well, aside from lower cabin noise due to better sound-proofing.
(The above are from 2024 model-year, I'm assuming they are still the same)
