In one of the videos, it was suggested that servers at Google activate the HUD for Google Maps. And that's happening over time..

That sounds like Google issue. Apple Maps works fine.

Google Maps has not worked with turn by turn until the recent Google Maps update. It is not dependent on IOS 26.

Is Google Maps on Android Auto working with the HUD?
I'm running Google Maps 26.10.01.87 and It doesn't work for me.

No. Never worked, nor expected. HU software 2170 that doesn't update, Android 16. It's Toyota software for you 😕.
