TPMS sensor issue
Good to know: I have a set of 19 inch rims and tires with aftermarket TPMS sensors.
Yesterday, I was driving on a gravel road when my TPMS warning light in the dash turned on. I also have a message telling me to visit a dealership.
The Lexus app shows the status as normal with all tires having adequate pressure. I verified them by hand and everything is normal.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any advice as to what I could do to troubleshoot the issue?
Thanks in advance.

I would start by questioning your aftermarket tpms sensors. The tpms used on Lexus NX is a newer iteration in design. You don't mention how long you've had the tpms and your 19" rims installed and functioning fine. To start tpms are battery operated, each one has a battery in them to send out their signal which is a very specific frequency and must align with the vehicle's frequency that it's looking for or things don't talk to each other well. The message that's telling you to visit he dealer may be because the battery in one may be low, or maybe the car can't 'see' the tpms signal well.
I would start by going back to the shop you used to do install and maybe they can diagnose the problem with a tpms reader tool that's used to set them up correctly. They should also be competent in knowing what frequency the tpms are required to have for your vehicle, these are very vehicle specific items, not all will work.

I wouldn't use the Lexus App as the definitive status of tire pressure since its not a real time display, use the infotainment system tire pressure display for that. If your tire pressures are indeed proper, there really is two main possibilities, a sensor is malfunctioning, or the receiver in the car is. If its the receiver in the car, it would be a warranty item, but the trouble you may potentially face, the dealer may be grumpy enough to dismiss it without reverting back to OEM sensors.

Yes the app will only show you your last updated info for pressure BEFORE you shut it off. To save parasitic losses on the 12 volt battery the car doesn't communicate with the tpms when it's not running.
So I ended up buying a set of TPMS sensors off of Aliexpress for $34 CAD. Went to a Fountain Tire to have them installed for $100. Did the register a new set thing, drove for about 15 minutes on the highway and it worked. So I paid under $150 total. Lexus wanted $100 to scan and then $125 per sensor. So between $225 and $600, but I'm sure it's the latter because they would have asked me to get the hole set for $500 and they maybe would have charged for the install.
If anyone is in a similar situation and would like a link to those sensors, let me know.😊
