Tpms
Hi all, I've got a 2009 LS SWB and I got a TPMS light on the dash. I took it to my local tire place and they identified the driver side rear TPMS sensor as not reading. They replaced the TPMS and cleared the codes. However I drove the car for two days and that one TPMS stays in "Checking" status. The other four sensors showed a pressure reading on the dash. The TPMS warning light eventually came back on. I hooked up my Autel scanner and was able to get a pressure reading from all five TPMS sensors. But when I drive the car and watch the live data from the Autel that one TPMS doesn't show a reading whole the other four do. I'm guessing the TPMS module/receiver in the car is faulty but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone. I definitely planned on taking it back to the shop but I wanted to get educated beforehand. I took it back and they performed a relearn procedure which fixed it. So you were right. Thanks again.
Aftermarket TPMS can be hit or miss. Sometimes they’ll throw a warning even when pressure’s fine. I’d try pulling the negative battery cable for a few minutes to reset the system or do a TPMS relearn. If it keeps popping up, one of the sensors might just be starting to fail.

The part about needing to have registered it in the first place is accurate, but the second part isn't, at least generally. Not sure about Discount but the vast majority of tire shops can register new TPMS to a Lexus, or any other vehicle

Relearn is when you input the sensor ID’s into the ECU. Programming is typically done on an aftermarket sensor so the it is in the correct mode for the ECU to communicate with it.
