Beeping NX350h
My NX350h will, on occasion, beep at me 8… ish times in a row when I lock it.
Is it trying to tell me it misses me and to come back and play or is it something else?
My Lexus service dealer hasn’t a clue?
What do you think?

Try locking it using only the physical lock buttons, without using the remote fob, and see if it does the same thing. Typically, on most vehicles, the horn will sound when you use the fob to lock it, but not when you use one of the inside or outside buttons. That might give you an idea whether the problem is with the fob sensors or not.
Thanks for the idea.
I just noticed that if I leave the car on and walk away with the key in my pocket I get the 8 beeps.
However it sometimes beep even though the car is off and I lock the car with my fob.

Those eight beeps for me means one of the doors is still open, so maybe you think everything is closed but in reality something is still not fully closed
Basically it is telling you that you are trying to lock your car while something is still open. It also happens when your car is still running and you get out, and close the door, and go away from the car.

During my first week of ownership of my NX350h, I could not lock it with the doorhandle. I could only lock it with fob button. It would just beep with doorhandle attempt. It turned out the dealer put the smart key card in the owners manual. The beep was telling me there was a key in the car. The dealer never told me it was there, and I didn’t even realize my car came with this smart (credit card style) key. Now I just keep the smart key in my wallet and don’t even carry the fob. It locks fine now that there’s not a key in the car, LOL.

Just for sake of clarity, the "digital" key and the card key are two different things. The digital key is a software only one that is downloaded to the Lexus App on your phone and communicates with the car using BlueTooth. The card key is just a regular fob type key but without the buttons (so lacks the longer range radio and a different physical format of course).
Thanks for all the input on the beeping.
Here is what I’ve been able to distill:
The car will beep if it detects that a door is open and you’re trying to lock the car.
It will beep if you walk away from a running car with the key in your pocket.
And we live in an imperfect world, the car will beep if it “thinks” a door is open even though it’s not.
What was throwing me is that I usually hit the fob lock button twice because “hey if once is good twice is better” and that’s when i
would notice the 8 beeps. It would beep but not repeatedly.
Bottom line is that the car is too smart for its own good and detects conditions that don’t exist.
For what it’s worth it also keeps me from leaving my car on when I think it’s off, so there’s that.
Have a great day and thanks for all this reply’s.
Now where’s that key fob???

But on a more serious note, if your car is detecting the doors open when they don't appear to be, you might consider having it checked. Unfortunately, the doors on the NX don't have that traditional Lexus solid door closing action, and there have been some people (not many at all, but there have been reports) that have experienced doors coming open when driving. It has been infrequent enough that I'm not sure if their doors were closed, but not closed enough, or there was an actual issue with the door latches. Anyway, just something to keep in mind as you discover your new NX.
Those eight beeps for me means one of the doors is still open, so maybe you think everything is closed but in reality something is still not fully closed
Basically it is telling you that you are trying to lock your car while something is still open. It also happens when your car is still running and you get out, and close the door, and go away from the car.

It is my understanding that the multiple beeps upon locking is a safety feature to let you know (A) there is something in your back seat, (B) your connected smartphone is still in the vehicle, or (C) a door or the rear hatch is not closed & latched properly.
Wait, it can detect your iPhone? I’ve accidentally left my phone in my NX multiple times, no beeps. Is there something I can turn on so it warns me if my phone is inside and I lock the doors?
